Where is the money collected by Battle Cancer going?
All the money that is collected by Battle Cancer is split between investment straight into our events and Macmillan Cancer Support. We invest every penny that goes in our events into growing Battle Cancer to reach as many people across the UK as possible. All of the money that teams fundraise, goes directly into their chosen charity. In 2017 Battle Cancer athletes raised £64,000 for 23 UK cancer charities.
Why did you choose Macmillan?
We, at Battle Cancer, chose Macmillan Cancer Support as our main UK cancer charity due to our personal experiences that shaped our lives when hit by cancer. The support and personal touch that the Macmillan Nurses and Support Staff offered, changed the lives of loved ones. As a charity low on funds to cover the huge scale of the task in hand, we knew we wanted to create something that could bring our love of fitness into giving back.
How can I set up my own fundraiser?
We have a great fundraising pack that all athletes and non athletes can have access to. This pack gives all the information needed to start you on your fundraising journey. We are looking to inspire people to fundraise all year round under the Battle Cancer banner. The Battle Cancer team is always on hand to offer advice and tips on how to fundraise. We also love to feature fundraising stories on our social media channels and website.
Can my entire box take part in the fundraiser?
You, your friends, your entire box, your whole community can take part in a fundraiser. We love to see fundraising that brings people together in a common cause. As we promote year round fundraising we can’t wait to see how you and the people around you come up with fundraising events and ideas.
How can I make a Battle Cancer fundraising event in my box?
You can set up a Battle Cancer fundraising event in your box by downloading our fundraising pack today and hitting the ground running. With an email to our team via email@example.com we can send you links to our images and logo. We can also offer support by sharing your event online and featuring your fundraising efforts. We have fantastic partner brands who can help supply prizes and incentives to encourage people to take part in your event. The Battle Cancer team also travels across the UK and can visit your box, grab some pictures and lend support on your event day.
How much money did you collect so far?
Since Battle Cancer was set up in 2016, as a small group of fundraisers, we have raised over £100,000 for 24 UK cancer charities. We aim to continue to grow upon this success and aim to be the UK’s leading fitness charity event. The whole team is committed to support all of you, incredible people, who want to kick cancer into the dust.
